It's a dark and stormy night, and you're housesitting for your sister while she's away. She didn't say where she was going, but she left in a [[hurry]], leaving you to look after the house on short notice.
The wind howls outside. And you hear a banging coming from the [[cellar]], which is probably nothing.
Besides, you have [[popcorn]] waiting.Well, she _did_ tell you one thing about where she was going. You think. Mainly that she needed to find a [[hole in the ground->cellar]] to hide in...for some reason.
Maybe something [[embarrassing]] happened at work? What _is_ that noise, anyway?
You go to check it out.
You walk over to the cellar door, which opens with screeching hinges. The air smells like iron. Must be from the rust on the hinges, which you just now noticed.
The banging stops, for a moment. Then it gets closer. And [[closer]].The timer dings.
It's ready! And not at all burnt.
You grab it, and retreat to the living room, popping one of your sister's DVDs in the player.
Funny... All her movies are about things locked in [[cellars->horror flicks]]...
The [[banging->curiosity]] continues.You're...not actually sure where she works, actually... Or what her job even is. She's surprisingly [[cagey->cellar]] about herself.
She's been this way ever since you were [[kids]].You shut the door. And then leave the house immediately, using your cell phone to call your sister.
"Oh yeah," she says. "I forgot to tell you about Kevin."
A roar comes from the depths of the house. Then another, closer this time.
"My bad," your sister says.
END
{restart link, label: 'Restart'}It started when your childhood pet hamster disappeared. You came home after playing with friends one day, and found your sister in your room, and your hamster gone. She never told you what happened. To this day, she keeps the secret [[locked away]].
...Or maybe she just forgot. Now that you think about it, you've forgotten the name of that hamster too...Kasey? Kris? [[Kenny?->cellar]]Oh well. What's in the past is in the past, [[right?->cellar]]
She's just not a very [[talkative person->cellar]], is all.You never figured she was much of a [[horror movie->sister mystery]] fan.
Well, you like horror movies, too. So that's one thing you have [[in common->sister mystery]].
The [[banging->cellar]] continues.Your [[curiosity->cellar]] gets the better of you.You don't know a lot about her; she's surprisingly [[cagey->cellar]] about herself. Everything about her is a bit of a [[mystery->regular mystery]]... She's mainly one to listen and ask questions.
She's been this way since you were [[kids]]....Like the mystery of what that freaking [[banging noise->cellar]] is!
It hasn't [[stopped->cellar]]. It's driving you up the wall! What kind of house is this, anyway?
